The client wanted to extend their period property at Brook Lawn with a space that celebrates light, landscape and contemporary living, while responding sympathetically to the home’s existing architectural language. The brief called for a reinterpretation of the traditional orangery - a light-filled, generous family space that feels both timeless and modern, anchoring the connection between interior and garden.

Our Solution

We designed a contemporary twist on the classic orangery, extending the original house with a space defined by refined proportions, generous glazing and crafted detailing. The addition elevates the traditional typology through modern materials and a thoughtful architectural language that complements the traditional property. Carefully balanced between old and new, the design enhances natural light and spatial flow while respecting the character and rhythm of the host building.

The result is a space that feels sculptural yet harmonious - a modern interpretation of the orangery that enriches the home’s everyday use and strengthens its connection with the garden.
