Kate
Office Manager
Kate is the worker bee that puts the sweetness in all of the different Bastion honey pots. As a busy Mum of two, Kate’s knack for organisation, multi-tasking, and managerial skills sees her keep all of the cogs of our studio turning; and with the love for her partner, Russ (our Technology Director), she’s definitely not too shy to whip the team into shape. As your first point of contact, she’ll understand the brief, organise everything, and make arrangements for you and our team to take your dream to the next stage. Once that dream is fully realised, we’re sure Kate will be the first to celebrate with a cheeky tipple, or three.
Cameron
Director
Cameron is to Bastion, as what Woody is to Toy Story. A fundamental team player whose creativity is second to none. Bastion’s chief of design, it is he who will be the one to kick-start a project. Whether it’s a large department store or a residential project, the one thing Cameron has up his sleeve is an innate ability to show a client exactly what they want, even when they didn’t know it’s what they wanted. Armed with a pen and a pad, it is his concise approach and desire to create solutions with a wow factor that means he always exceeds a clients vision, and delivers on the Bastion promise.
Russell
Technology Director
Russell with his steely gaze and teddy bear persona, we have confidence that every Bastion client is in good hands. That’s because, if Russell doesn’t know how it goes together, then we’re pretty sure it just doesn’t fit. In fact, his industry know-how is so strong that some may think of him as a walking encyclopaedia of technical details. Russell is Bastion’s man who oversees every project from planning, through to construction, where his broad knowledge of the complex processes involved make him an asset to every client, whether it’s a shopping centre, or a high-spec residential build.
Rob
Planning Consultant
Some may say that planning is not something to get excited about, but for Rob, we’re sure he’d say the total opposite. With his 30 years’ experience, Rob is well placed to help every Bastion client throughout the planning process. Whether that is offering advice on planning matters during the design stage, or by producing statements to support planning applications with local authorities. With previous experience working for Local Authorities, Rob knows the process like the back of his hand. Whilst not liaising with planning departments, Rob likes to plan (obviously) dog walks in the Cotswolds.
Ben
Senior Architect
Ben is our RIBA and ARB chartered Architect. Since the tag, ‘the special one’ is taken, we affectionately refer to Ben as ‘the talented one’. Overseeing all of the conceptual, and early design work, Ben’s creative mind is a powerhouse within our diverse team. With a keen eye for new trends, combined with his distinctive drawing style, he offers canvas worthy artistry on tap. Away from the studio, Ben can often be found immersed within the subject matter, getting grit between his fingernails working on the refurbishment of his own property. Which of course, is looking epic!
Isabel
Interior Designer
It’s her artistic flair and keen eye for the finer details, which make Isabel an integral member of the Bastion team. Although her role means she is focused on the finishes, she is instrumental in establishing the right ambiance, tone and vision for the internal spaces of any Bastion project. A designer who doesn’t dictate, but listens to clients, and responds with considerations aimed at exceeding the brief at every corner. Experienced working with large retailers, Isabel is passionate about creating spaces that feel comfortable for the everyday activity that happens within them.
Keith
Director
Some may say Keith is the class clown, but when it comes to people he is as comfortable with them as he is with a pencil in his hand. Keith’s ability isn’t just focused on making things look great on paper, although he can make a shed look like a million quid. It’s his focus on the business that really makes him an integral cog in the Bastion machine. Keith founded the business with a passion and desire that is demonstrated by his can do attitude, where his uncanny attention to detail means he has the ability to learn, deliver and adapt quickly for any situation he and his clients find themselves in.
Carl
Architectural Designer
With his youthful exuberance, Carl is a Degree Apprentice Student from the University of Portsmouth, working hands-on with the Bastion team. Carl’s passion for architecture is based around the relationship between the old and the new, with a key focus on how the two can harmoniously exist. Additionally, it’s his love for improving life by regenerating urban landscapes that really showcase his ability. When not at the screen, Carl visit’s the Devon coast to surf the waves and as a keen petrol head, his dream is to purchase a Land Rover, tinker away and take it on off road adventures.
Marco
Lead Architect – Lancs
Marco leads our Lancashire based studio. Initially from the land of fine food and fashion, Marco soon realised his calling was with a pen in his hand. Trained in Italy, Marco swapped the ancient scenery for the UK’s Northern countryside in the early 10’s. A Chartered architect and expert in 3D visualisations, Marco with his exuberant personality has the knowledge to bring your residential dreams to life, combining this with his experience in interior restaurant design (he is of course Italian), and true to these roots, making gelato and bread are not just a passion, they’re skills that run in his blood.
