Spring Woods. Fleet, Hampshire. A contemporary extension and loft conversion to a conventional bungalow.

INTRODUCTION

A contemporary extension and loft conversion to a conventional bungalow.

WHAT WAS THE BRIEF?

The clients were looking to maximise the potential of a small bungalow which was lacking in space and character. Although not a large site, there was opportunity to the side and rear to extend as well as into the roof space. Modern, “light and airy” open plan living was high on the agenda and accommodation needed to be made for coming home from muddy walks with the dog.

OUR SOLUTION

A double height glazed rear extension became the heart of the home, with an open plan kitchen, living, dining room that catches the sun beautifully and provides easy access to the garden. A loft extension, first floor side extension and rear flat roof dormer creates a very generous master suite with Juliette balcony overlooking the garden. A car port at ground floor maintains suitable parking arrangements and a covered entrance with easy access to the utility room ensures no pooch prints on the new floor. To gain planning approval, the design had to be sensitive to the adjoining neighbour and pattern of buildings on the street.

We would highly recommend Cameron and his team. He listened to our requirements and proposed designs and then added his design flair. He worked within our budget and is very approachable. The quality of his work and plans were top drawer.
